I built this and made sure every step was correct, but it clicks like crazy when ever I reverse from a stopped position. It will click a little when moving forward as well, but not as bad as reversing. It also struggles on long carpet and clicks a lot when on it. I can’t figure out if it’s the motors or gears grinding, but any suggestions would be welcome.
Not sure, I guess, it comes from the front gear box. When starting or changing the direction very smoothly, there is allmost no cracking, but if I give full speed driving backwards when the car stands still or if I reverse direction while the car ist still moving, the cracks are terrible. This way, driving is no fun.
The Defender uses the old differentials, these are ok for light fast models but suffer with heavy models and high torque. Under high torque the differential housing can twist and the gears will not mesh properly, that is the sound you hear. I have had the same problem and so I purchased the new differentials and have used them in the Outback Adventures model, which is quite heavy with very high torque, with no problems.

Wenn ich den jetzt in der RC Version bauen möchte, brauche ich die gelisteten Teile UND zusätzlich noch einen s-Brick? Dann komme ich auf einen Gesamtpreis von ca 350€ (150 für das Modell, 100 für die Teile und 100 für den S-Brick), stimmt das so?? Danke
Ja, der Ansatz ist soweit korrekt. Das teure an den zusätzlichen Teilen sind die zusätzlichen Motoren. Ein sbrick kostet aber auch nur 78€ und keine 100€. Vielleicht kannst Du die aus anderen Modellen ausbauen. Dann wird es deutlich günstiger. Bei LEGO geht es schließlich darum, den bestehenden Fundus wiederzuverwenden und daraus etwas neues zu kreieren.

Hi, I suggest to replace part 32523 (Technic Beam 1 x 3 Thick) with part 32316 (Technic Beam 1 x 5 Thick) at page 40 step 5 Reason: I recently built this MOC and had severe gear slips in case the car is driving slowly to a kind of step and then the motors have to perform full power to overcome the barrier. I haven't found any building mistake at my model and therefore I did some analysis and found a weakness. It looks like with the existing construction the gear at the driving axle can get too much clearance and ends up in crackle noise. With the replacement of the part mention above, this will be avoided.

Hallo zusammen, komme ich nach diesem fertigen RC-Umbau mit einer Batteriebox (88000) noch problemlos an die Box um die Batterien/Akkus (AAA) zu wechseln oder muss ich dafür dann immer Teile abbauen? Viele Grüße
Hi, Du musst nur den Sitz ausbauen, mit Einbau vllt. eine Minute. >>Tür auf, abziehen, Box raus, Wechsel der Batterie und wieder rein, dann den Sitz wieder unten einsetzen und horizontal an der Karosserie befestigen<< Das Schreiben hat glaube genauso lang gedauert wie der Aus- Einbau (ohne Batteriewechsel ;-)) Kannst aber auch die senkrechte Befestigung vom Sitz einfach weg lassen, dann kannst Du jederzeit dran... Grüße

ich bin neu, daher bitte ich die vielleicht dumme Frage zu verzeihen.
Ich habe den 42110 hier stehen und habe mir die Anleitung von CB gekauft.
Wenn ich den jetzt in der RC Version bauen möchte, brauche ich die gelisteten Teile UND zusätzlich noch einen s-Brick? Dann komme ich auf einen Gesamtpreis von ca 350€ (150 für das Modell, 100 für die Teile und 100 für den S-Brick), stimmt das so??

Vielleicht kannst Du die aus anderen Modellen ausbauen. Dann wird es deutlich günstiger. Bei LEGO geht es schließlich darum, den bestehenden Fundus wiederzuverwenden und daraus etwas neues zu kreieren.
Der Abschlepphacken soll Motorbetrieben werden.
