The box measures 258 x 180 x 59 mm and weighs 360 grams. Inside we find 3 numbered bags, 2 building instructions and a piece of cardboard holding a DOTS bracelet. The pdfs of the instructions can be downloaded here.
The Parts
The set contains 334 parts and 14 spares, in 22 colors, and 20 part categories, with a total of 100 unique parts/color combinations. Main colors are:
Mirabel doesn't possess magic, but she does conjure up a brand new color for us! As of writing, the set contains the only appearance of Trans-Yellow Opal, the 8th color to be given the Opal transformation.
Starting with Mirabel, who appeared in this form before in 43215-1 The Enchanted Treehouse. We had a minidoll of her before with a different head, as well as 2 version in microdoll form. Her clothes are so lovely and detailed! She's holding a candle made from the new colored round brick. Our daughters love the new capybara mold.
The first bag brings us the DOTS bracelet with new butterfly printed tiles, always welcome here. Then we build the base for the photo frame, with stands for Mirabel and the capybara. In the back we find photo holders.
The bag also contains a key, but it isn't mentioned anywhere in the instructions, and there is no lock for it to go into. So its presence is a bit of a mystery.
The second bag builds the photo frame itself. The borders are covered in the relatively new tiles with cutouts. I've followed the instructions here, but you can of course create your own pattern.
On to the other instruction manual for the final bag, which builds the jewelry box. Enough surface to create patterns here too. The construction is simple, but looks pretty with all the tiles on it.
Conclusion
The leaves sticking out of the stands get in the way of the photos.
It is a nice quick build for me. Nothing too special. I think for younger children who love the movie, the set can be a nice colorful decoration on their desk, hiding little things in the jewelry box. The set does only provide just the tiles used in the instructions, I hoped on some additional tiles for more options DOTting the model.
